ISO 31000:2018 Certification

This course enables participants to become certified risk management professionals (Foundations level). The training and exam are based on the ISO 31000:2018 risk management standard which can be used by organizations of any size, any industry, and any sector.

In this intensive two and half day course, participants develop competence in the foundations of the ISO 31000 :2018 risk management standard . Based on in-depth teaching , practical exercises and quiz questions that test their aptitude, participants acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to pass the stringent exam.

They do so by becoming familiar with the vocabulary, principles, framework and the risk management process proposed in the ISO 31000:2018 standard. During the online course, we will present the ISO 31000 Risk Management Principles and Guidelines and its two companions, the ISO 31073:2022 (previously known as ISO Guide 73:2009), and the IEC/ISO 31010:2019 Risk Assessment Techniques.

In previous positions he was Executive Director and Solution Leader Enterprise Risk Management at EY Advisory, European Director Internal Audit, Chief Financial Officer and Director of Finance. Marinus is a Dutch Registered Accountant and holds a Master in Philosophy of Religion. As a consultant he assists management teams with structuring the relations between holdings and subsidiaries regarding all aspects of their daily operations. It implies finding a suitable balance between local autonomy and central standardisation, between trust and control. Marinus has extensive experience with developing and conducting seminars, trainings, workshops and lectures in the areas of risk management, performance management, corporate governance, compliance management internal control, internal audit, finance and controlling. He regularly contributes articles to professional magazines and is speaker at conferences.

Exam

Day 3

Morning: Overall review, examination and results

  • Testing your knowledge with sample exam questions
  • Information regarding the validation procedure of G31000 pertaining to the ISO 31000 certification – foundations level
  • Exam on the foundations of ISO 31000 (duration: 2 hours)

Prerequisites

Attendees should read the ISO 31000:2018 risk management standard before the course, especially the vocabulary, the principles, the framework and the process proposed in the ISO 31000 standard.
