This course enables certified ISO 31000 risk professionals to learn the skills and techniques required to conduct in-depth maturity assessments, reviews and audits against the principles of ISO 31000.

The course is structured about the exclusive G31000 risk management maturity model, the only ISO 31000 principles-based risk maturity model. G31000 RMM helps organizations assess alignment to ISO 31000 principles and current maturity level and to develop a roadmap for continuous improvement.

The course covers the purpose of risk management and detailed analysis of each of the Eight (8) principles proposed in the ISO 31000: 2018 risk management standard, including a set of criteria to test current maturity and identify opportunities for improvement.

About The Trainer

Angel Escorial

Angel is CEO of Riskia since its constitution in 2002. He is Master in Civil Engineering and BSc in Physics. Another accreditations of Angel are: Specialist in Foreign Trade, CFPA in fire protection, CT31000 and Alarys graduate in Risk Management.

His career began in nuclear power plants engineering in the U.S. and Spain. Angel joined the ‘world of risks and insurance’ in an industrial insurance broker for 6 years and developing consultancy services on risks for an outstanding reinsurance owned firm for 9 years till 11S.

Since then, Angel manages Riskia and its subsidiaries in Europe, Africa and the Americas, and monitors the projects in Risk Management, Safety, Security and Environment that Riskia develops for Organizations with or without MS.

He counts on significant experience in the direction of multidisciplinary consultancy projects and works of decontamination after fire, flood or chemical spill. During his over 30 year professional career, he has managed hundreds of projects in these fields.

Angel is member of CICCP, AGERS and ‘Ateneo de Madrid’ and participates in international forums of risk professionals like APEGRI, where he is president, and ISO’s TC262 as head of Spanish Delegation since 2011 where he takes part as expert in Risk Management of the UNE mirror committee CTN307. He also proposed the draft to the STTF for the first unified translation of ISO 31000:2018 Risk Management into Spanish. Angel is too G31000 Vice President and partner for Spanish speaking countries.

He is speaker in Conferences, Trainings and Seminars in Risk Management, Safety, Security, Environment and Insurance.

Alex Dali is well known today through his very active work in raising awareness of Risk Management Standards, particularly on ISO 31000. Holding a Msc in Chemical engineering, a degree Business Administration and a post-master in Risk Management, he has worked in the last 25 years on many aspects of risk management: industrial risk management, loss prevention, natural disaster risk management, business impact analysis, business interruption, business continuity management, standards and regulations. Today, Alex is a recognized as the founder of the Global Institute for Risk Management Standards, G31000, the global ISO 31000 platform and the active owner/moderator of the LinkedIn group which has reached 63,000+ members. He is an invited professor in several universities and institutes, trainer for workshops and writing articles on ISO 31000.

Day 2

Applying G31000 Risk
Management Maturity model

  • Data gathering and validation on the following principles:

    • Risk management takes into account Human and cultural factors
    • Risk management is Continually improved through learning and experience.
  • Step C : Developing road maps based on the G31000 risk management maturity model
  • Step D : Calculating the overall risk maturity level.


Day 3

Afternoon: Overall review and examination

  • Exam on the use of the G31000 Risk Maturity Model (duration: 2 hours)
  • Information regarding the validation procedure to become "Certified ISO 31000 Lead Auditor"


Only C31000 certified ISO 31000 risk professionals are allowed to take this course since attendees should have a good knowledge and understanding on the ISO 31000 risk management standard before the course , especially the vocabulary , the principles , the framework and the process proposed in the ISO 31000 standard.
